Duties and Responsibilities
As a Full Time Adult Community Participation Worker, the key duties and responsibilities include.
Promoting Rights and Responsibilities: Understanding and advocating for the rights and responsibilities of individuals, treating everyone with respect and dignity.
Independent and Team Work: Working independently or collaboratively within a team to prioritize and fulfill shift requirements while meeting individual needs.
Support Provision: Offering support by following support plans, considering individual choices, needs, and actively involving them in decision-making.
Community Engagement: Identifying and facilitating access to social, economic, recreational, physical, vocational and educational services in the community.
Assessment and Planning: Participating in assessment, goal setting, and program planning for individuals, maintaining an efficient caseload.
Medical Support: Performing delegated tasks as directed by professionals including administering medications and completing range of motion exercises.
Hygiene and Personal Care: Providing support in personal hygiene while upholding the individual’s dignity and respect.
Administrative Responsibilities: Ensuring completion of administrative work contributing to the seamless delivery of services.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required: To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
Educational Background: DSW, PSW, or relevant education and experience in the field.
Experience: Previous experience with individualized plans and relevant tasks.
Organizational Skills: Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow directions.
Dependability: Reliability, responsibility and dependability in fulfilling obligations.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast paced environment and support diverse individuals with minimal information.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Conditions of Employment: Candidates must meet the following conditions:
Driving Requirements: Possess a valid driver’s license, driver’s abstract with minor convictions, and valid vehicle insurance.
Vulnerable Sector Check: Provide a clean
Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
First Aid/CPR Certification: Provide a valid FirstAid/CPR Level C certificate.
